Masonry Heaters

Masonry heaters are a unique type of fireplace that can cleanly and efficiently burn wood to provide the primary heat for a home. Correct design and placement of the heater is necessary to ensure proper performance. Many of my clients have designed their homes—and their lifestyles around these clean burning stoves that emit a gentle warmth throughout the day after a single short hot fire.

I live with a masonry heater that I retrofitted into my home. They are not for everybody, but if you enjoy wood heat, the labor of preparing the wood and a warm crackling fire—it’s wonderful—I look forward to winter every year.
